Home/About

An independent consultancy built by people who have run these services.

RegReady Care Consultancy supports children's homes and supported accommodation providers across England and Wales, from first idea through registration, inspection, improvement and growth.

Our belief

Every child deserves a service that is genuinely ready to care for them properly.

Children should not have to rely on luck to receive good care. They deserve services that are safe, prepared, well led and genuinely child centred.

RegReady exists to help providers reach the standard children deserve, not just the minimum needed to satisfy regulation.

The people behind RegReady

The experience above is not anonymous. These are the people it belongs to.

Alex Aresti

Alex Aresti

Founder and Managing Director, Omega Life

Founder, Foundations for Life

Alex grew up in the care system, placed in foster care at 12 and in a children's home at 15. That experience gave him a clear view of what the system does well and where it lets children down, and Omega exists to close that gap.

After fifteen years working in children's homes, including at a council run secure children's home, Alex re-mortgaged his home in 2015 to found Omega: one home, three members of staff, supporting 16 to 18 year old care leavers.

A decade on, Omega Life is a UK wide provider of children's residential care with sixteen homes across England and Wales. The group runs six stand-alone services covering care, clinical, digital, education, training and transport. Each is its own entity with its own named director. Alex also founded Foundations for Life, Omega's specialist school in Bootle.

What we look at that others do not

Many consultancies concentrate on the application or the policy folder. We consider the complete service.

  • Who the service intends to support
  • Whether the service model is viable
  • Whether the property supports that model
  • Whether leaders understand their responsibilities
  • Whether staff can deliver the intended practice
  • Whether safeguarding systems work in reality
  • Whether children's voices influence the service
  • Whether managers can identify and correct weaknesses
  • Whether records demonstrate meaningful practice
  • Whether governance provides effective oversight
  • Whether the organisation can sustain quality as it grows

The aim is not to help a provider appear ready on the day of an inspection. The aim is to help create a service that is genuinely ready to operate.

Our ethics

Children first. No shortcuts. Honest advice.

Children first

Every recommendation comes back to one question. Does this make the service safer, stronger and better for children?

Honest advice

Clear, direct feedback, even when it is uncomfortable. You are paying for expertise, not agreement.

Practical improvement

Clear action plans, realistic priorities and follow-up reviews. The aim is to help services get better, not to criticise from outside.

Our principles

  • Children remaining at the centre of decision making
  • Safe and effective safeguarding
  • Honest professional challenge
  • Practical implementation
  • Clear leadership accountability
  • Trauma-informed and relationship-based practice
  • Sustainable improvement
  • Evidence that reflects real practice
  • Appropriate independence between consultancy and regulatory decision making
