The method
Five stages inside every assignment
Every assignment begins with understanding the organisation, the proposed service, the children it intends to support and the challenges it is currently facing.
1. Understand
We establish the organisation's current position, the proposed service, the intended children or young people, the desired outcome, immediate risks, regulatory or operational concerns, and existing leadership and workforce capacity.
2. Assess
We review the service model, property, leadership, safeguarding, governance, documentation, workforce, training, quality assurance, recording systems, operational readiness, and children's experiences and outcomes.
3. Prioritise
We produce a plan showing what requires immediate attention, what is preventing progress, what must be completed before registration or inspection, who is responsible for each action, what evidence will demonstrate completion, and what should be developed longer term.
4. Implement
Where commissioned, we work alongside leaders and teams: developing systems, reviewing documentation, coaching managers, preparing leaders for interview, supporting workforce development, strengthening audits and testing operational readiness.
5. Embed
We review whether improvements are understood by leaders and staff, consistently implemented, evidenced appropriately, improving practice, and sustainable beyond the consultancy period.
What the discovery call covers
A confidential 30-minute conversation, at no charge, to establish:

- The work included
- The proposed consultant or consultancy team
- The delivery period
- The fixed fee
